Zoo Animals

Just a few of my favorite shots from the day. As always, I loved the giraffes. We missed the giraffe feeding times today, but still got to see the giraffes up close. To me, their eyes, fur and awkward yet beautiful lankiness is always unbelievable. Their tongues are amazing too, and totally unexpected: black, snake-like fingers that grab food for them.
The lion graced us with his presence today and once again the handy-dandy aquarium mode on the camera allowed me to get a good picture despite the glass.

The anteaters were eating when we passed by today. They are the most curious looking creatures. It's hard to even tall which part is their head, it is so narrow. Here they are both facing forward, the black "strips" heading back over their shoulders. The one on the left has his bizarre long thin tongue sticking out.
