Mmmm, yummy.

Okay, y'all here's my last post of our trip to the Sierras...Paul took a bunch of these pictures of Isaac and I on our last day before heading home. I was beginning to feel the heaviness of having to leave, return home and face chaos. Isaac just wanted to snuggle with his mom (I'm loving it while he's still interested in snuggling with me). I think Isaac was starting to feel bummed about having to leave the Lake and Pineridge, too. Once you've been to these special places, leaving them feels a little like leaving home every summer. Our family is so blessed to be able to visit these places, but somehow intuitively we try not to take them for granted and do try to soak up every minute and be thankful. This picture show so much of what I have to be thankful for.

Beautiful Nieces

Just a couple of the many good pics I got of Ella (right) and Kaia (below) on our trip. Both Ella and Kaia are beautiful spirited girls, each with their own take on life and wonderful uniqueness to share with the world! Every year Kier and I get so excited for the cousins to get to play with each other, we just wish it could be more than once a year! Cheers to the next time we can all be together, may it be sooner than next summer! Miss you guys!

Lake Cabin

Our humble little cabin on Shaver Lake. No electricity, no real running water, an old frig converted into an ice box, two lofts and a porch with a glorious view...sounds like Heaven on Earth to me! This photo is taken from down on the rocks, however usually I'd be under water where I was standing, as the water is usually up to the manzanita bushes just off the deck. Doesn't get better than that if you ask me!

Back Swim

Last year at the Lake, Isaac couldn't have cared less that there was a Lake to swim in. I mean, hello, there were rocks to climb. This year was a totally different story. With a swim class under his belt, a life jacket on and older cousins to keep up with, swim swim he did. Paul and I were amazed by his water confidence as he paddled around on his front, and then his back without any prompting! Here's to hoping this is the beginning of a lifetime love affair with swimming (but I'm not biased at all). This year Max had no interest in to water, so maybe next year he'll be doing the backstroke, too.

E-sploring

Isaac requested multiple times, to go "e-sploring" while at Pineridge. For those of you who were unaware, that is exploring. Sometimes Paul took him (right) and sometimes I took him (below) and we headed out on logging roads and through meadows. Each time escorted by Max and Shelty. The love of outdoors is something Paul and I are thrilled to share with Isaac and so his requests to adventure out into the woods were quickly granted. We look forward to many more trips together and lots more e-sploring!
