Pineridge

This is a photo of the meadow at Pineridge taken from the road where a creek crosses and there are blackberry bushes growing wild. The cabin is behind me, though I'm sorry to say we didn't get a picture of the cabin this year so you'll just have to try to feel satisfied by this view of the meadow. Usually there is a trolley--Isaac calls it a zipcord--going across the meadow. It is a simple wooden swing seat attached to a pulley wheel that goes around a metal cable strung from and old oak at the top of the meadow to another tree at the bottom of the meadow. You haul the seat up to a ladder built into the old oak, climb the ladder, get situated on the seat and have the most thrilling zip through the meadow you can imagine. It has long been a favorite of all those who visit Pineridge, both for children and the young of heart. This year a tree fell on the cable and pulled it down, sadly it hadn't been put back together in time for our visit. But there's always next year!
